Supervisors Fletcher and Vargas released a brief bi-lingual video overview that can be downloaded for use by broadcast, print, and online journalists and the community to share more about the Altar de Muertos.

Dia De Los Muertos is a Meso-American tradition observed annually on November 1 and 2 to honor those who have passed away. The Altar de Muertos is traditionally decorated with bright yellow marigold flowers, photos of those who passed away, and other items of remembrance.

The City Heights Dia de Los Muertos Committee is once again helping the Supervisors decorate the Altar with traditional items including framed photos, candles, marigold flowers, and symbolic items to represent the deceased. This year the Altar de Muertos will feature five structures built by Carpenters Union Local 619 members who generously donated their time.
