CHAIR FLETCHER, OTHER SUPES DOUBLE DOWN ON COMMITMENT TO MENTAL HEALTH & ADDICTION TREATMENT SERVICES WITH RENEWAL OF CONTRACTS FOR SEVERAL PROGRAMS
Chair Nathan Fletcher, and the San Diego County Board of Supervisors today authorized the County’s Behavioral Health Services Department to renew a series of procurements for mental health and addiction treatment with several providers, including renewal of an agreement for care coordination services with Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan.
“Over the last three-years our County’s made significant investments in mental health and addiction treatment services, and today we renewed our commitment to several programs,” said Chair Fletcher. “The renewal of the care coordination pilot is one I am especially pleased to see continue because it ensures patients in our behavioral health system are provided the guidance and support they need to get on a better path. In addition, we will continue efforts to bridge people who visit our highly successful Crisis Stabilization Units to sobriety and support services, establishing another important step in the continuum of care.
Other programs the Board approved included multidisciplinary treatment services for homeless with serious mental illness, behavioral health services for justice-involved youth, short-term and transitional bridge housing, sobering services, and therapy and stabilization services for youth up-to 21 years of age in foster care.
