SAN DIEGO COUNTY SUPERVISORS UNANIMOUSLY VOTE TO SUPPORT GOVERNOR GAVIN NEWSOM’S GAS TAX REBATE PROPOSAL

Chair Nathan Fletcher, and the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, voted to support the tax rebate proposal of Governor Gavin Newsom. Chair Fletcher issued the following statement:

“Out of control gas costs are directly impacting the quality of life for working-class families. They need some relief and it is encouraging to see our board come together in a bipartisan way to support our Governor’s proposal to provide a gas tax rebate directly to the residents of San Diego.”

The final vote authorized the County of San Diego to officially register support for: 

• Governor’s proposal to offer a tax rebate to ease the pain of rising gas prices

• Ensuring that any sort of gas tax relief would have a mechanism in place that would make sure that oil companies would actually charge lower prices.
