Statement: County Increases Investment in Behavioral Health
Today the County of San Diego increased its commitment to behavioral health primarily in north county. The Board passed a combined $23.8 million to expand the work of Psychiatric Emergency Response Teams; establish regional mental health crisis stabilization centers; and augment an existing contract for Palomar Health. These significant investments will add needed bed capacity to north county, helping meet their need and alleviating some of the burden on the rest of the region.
