Supervisor Fletcher Explains His No Vote on NRP Rule Change
“We should hold our spending of taxpayer funds to the highest levels of transparency and accountability at all times, especially during a global pandemic. These rules were put in place more than a decade ago based on abuses of taxpayer funds and it is inappropriate to roll them back.
As noted by the San Diego Union Tribune, this action would have removed protections to stop elected officials from receiving gifts from entities they funded as well as removed protections to stop organisations who do not fulfill their reporting obligations from receiving additional funding.”
