Board Supports Supervisor Fletcher’s Leave No Veterans Behind Proposal
Today the Board of Supervisors voted 4-0 in support of Supervisor Nathan Fletcher’s proposal to have the Chief Administrative Officer come up with a plan to expand a County Vet Connect station with a secure internet connection in Tijuana Mexico, at the Deported Veterans Support House, including hosting online office hours for veterans who need assistance filing benefits. Supervisor Fletcher released the following statement after the vote.
“No one who was willing to give their life for our country, should ever be deported. While the County of San Diego can’t fix the federal government's unjust actions, we can move to help improve the condition of our deported veterans. Extending the Vet Connect Program will help our veterans access the benefits they earned while defending our country.”
