GOVERNOR NEWSOM APPOINTS JASON PAGUIO TO CALIFORNIA COMMISSION ON ASIAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER AMERICAN AFFAIRS
The Asian Business Association San Diego (ABASD) is pleased to announce that our President & CEO Jason Paguio has been appointed to the California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs by Governor Gavin Newsom.
Since leading ABASD, Jason has grown the organization to its largest size in more than 30 years, expanding its impact through community-based outreach and partnerships while tripling its office size to provide a free cultural co-working hub for local Asian and Pacific Islander nonprofits. More recently, Jason helped to formally designate the Convoy District in Kearny Mesa as the Pan Asian Cultural and Business Innovation District in the City of San Diego.
"Jason Paguio’s vision, leadership, and collaborative efforts enabled the region to assist thousands of businesses owned by People of Color during the most challenging months of COVID-19 allowing them to remain open and even expand, ensuring jobs and revenue for many communities,” said San Diego County Board of Supervisor Chair Nathan Fletcher. “I have full confidence Jason will bring this same dedication to state-wide efforts. Congratulations!”
