Supervisor Fletcher’s District 4 Community Budget Forum Wednesday
Supervisor Nathan Fletcher will host the first of two Community Budget Forums on April 3 at 6:00 p.m. in District 4. The Supervisor is bringing more transparency to the County of San Diego by sharing with residents how the budget process works, why it is important to service delivery and how they can provide input on the budget priorities.
The District 4 Community Budget Forums are a lead-up to the unanimously approved recommendation introduced by Supervisor Fletcher to hold an evening budget hearing in June for working families who are unable to attend daytime budget meetings.
On April 3 Supervisor Fletcher will be joined by staff from County Departments, including the Health and Human Services Agency and Public Safety Group. The budget forum is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Copley-Price Family YMCA Gymnasium, 4300 El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92105. Children are welcome and dinner will be provided. Materials will be translated in Spanish, Somali, and Vietnamese. Spanish interpreters will be translating the entirety of event.
“By bringing the department leaders into the neighborhoods to discuss the budget it makes County government more accessible for working families,” said Supervisor Fletcher. “These forums are the run-up to the evening budget hearing in June and by providing information ahead of time, residents will be able to maximize their time before the entire Board of Supervisors.”
District 4 residents interested in receiving more information about the budget forums can contact Supervisor Fletcher’s Director of Community Outreach, Heidi Martinez: firstname.lastname@example.org, 619-531-6002.
Save the date. The second Community Budget Forum in District 4 will be held Tuesday, May 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The location will be announced later.
